Dan Jenkins, sports writing great and author, dies at 89

He was 89.Texas Christian University athletic director Jeremiah Donati confirmed Jenkins died Thursday in his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas.Jenkins started his writing career at The Fort Worth Press and rose to stardom at Sports Illustrated. He wrote best-sellers Semi-Tough, Baja Oklahoma and Dead Solid Perfect, and was a columnist for Playboy and Golf Digest.Jenkins played golf at TCU and was a close friend of the late golf great Ben Hogan, also a Fort Worth native. Black Sox fall short in Tier 1 Provincials

first_imgDELIA, AB – The North Peace Peewee A Black Sox battled at provincials in Delia this past weekend.The team started the tournament hot as the steam rolled the Sundre Steelers 16-2. Game two was much like the first as they beat Plamondon 16-6.After going 2-0 in round robin the Black Sox punched their ticket to the semi-finals where they would play the host Delia.
