Bachrodt Named Bulldog Student-Athlete of the Week

first_imgSammie Bachrodt, a sophomore from Wichita, Kan., has been named this week’s Bulldog Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Drake Graduate and Professional Programs. Following the win over Indiana State, Bachrodt had 17 points at Loyola, matching her career high in points. She also added three rebounds, two assists and two steals in the 86-42 win. Bachrodt, a guard for the Drake women’s basketball team, averaged 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals in Drake’s two blowout wins over Indiana State and Loyola this past weekend. In a 19-point win over Indiana State, she scored five points, grabbed three rebounds, handed out two assists and nabbed two steals in 21 minutes. Academically, Bachrodt holds a 3.73 grade point average and is majoring in business. Bachrodt ranks among MVC leaders in scoring, rebounding, assists (2.5), steals (2.6), three-point percentage (38.9), field goal percentage (46.6) and three-pointers made (1.6). She was also a member of the 2016 MVC All-Freshman team. Bachrodt and the women’s basketball team return to The Knapp Center to host UNI on February 24 for their annual Pink Game presented by Mercy Medical Center.
