Inclement weather leads to Tuesday sports postponements

first_imgInclement weather Tuesday morning and early afternoon led to numerous postponements for high school sports teams across Hancock County.George Stevens Academy was supposed to host Deer Isle-Stonington in boys’ basketball and open its season against Ellsworth in swimming. Both events were postponed, and makeup dates have yet to be announced.The Ellsworth boys’ basketball game scheduled for Tuesday evening against Old Town has been rescheduled for 5:30 p.m. tomorrow, Dec. 13, prior to the girls’ game. The Bucksport boys’ basketball home game against Sumner has been rescheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 27.Also postponed was the Mount Desert Island boys’ basketball team’s home game against Foxcroft.
