first_img Authorities View post tag: News by topic View post tag: USS Laboon July 2, 2015 View post tag: Navy Share this article View post tag: Black Seacenter_img View post tag: Naval The Arleigh-Burke class guided-missile destroyer USS Laboon (DDG 58) departed the Black Sea on July 1, 2015, after a series of engagements that promoted peace and stability in the region.Laboon’s presence in the Black Sea reaffirmed U.S. commitment toward the region and increased joint operational capabilities amongst U.S., NATO and regional Black Sea partners.The vessel entered the Black Sea June 21, 2015, in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve. USS Laboon participated in a passing exercise (PASSEX) with the Romanian Navy corvette Admiral Eustatiu Sebastian (F-264) in the Black Sea, June 22-23 and afterwards conducted a brief port visit to Batumi, Georgia, June 26, 2015.
