Marrakech – The Moroccan Presidency of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22) will engage in an open and transparent dialogue with the support of various partners to address climate change, Morocco’s minister of Foreign Affairs and president of the COP22 Salaheddine Mezouar said.If the Paris Climate Conference led to a binding agreement, the COP22 will lay the foundation for a new global stage that would involve the signatories in a concerted action, he added at the opening ceremony of the conference, which kicked off Monday in Marrakech. In order to achieve this goal, the Moroccan Presidency proposes the setting-up of a platform to support the implementation of the Paris Agreement and take urgent measures to protect the environment, he pointed out.
